Tee Ball (5-6): Time Limit shall be 1 hour or 5 innings, whichever comes first.

Umpires: An umpire will not be provided by the league. Coaches and/or volunteer parents will officiate the games.

Batting Order: Every player will bat every inning. Every player will receive 3 pitches from the coach. If the ball is not put into play after the 3 pitches, the ball will be placed on the tee. The child then has two swings to put the ball into play. If the child does not put the ball into play, that child shall be called out. A foul ball that is hit on the second swing off the tee shall be called out. When the last batter in the order hits the ball, every child on base will run home, ending the half inning. Children that are called out shall return to the dugout. 3 outs does not end an inning.

DEFENSE: Will consist of nine (9) regular fielding positions and one extra player will play in the outfield. The outfield must begin in an umbrella formation. The pitcher must be on or behind the pitching rubber with both feet in the circle.

DEAD BALL:  When the ball is put into play and stopped by an infielder, all runners will be allowed to advance only one base. When a ball that is put into play makes it past the infield, runners can advance until time is called. Time will be called when any defensive player or the coach has control of the ball within the pitchers circle or when the lead runner is stopped.  Trailing runner’s positions will be determined by their degree of advancement when time is called.

GROUND RULES:  The pitching rubber will be a distance of 36 feet from home plate.  The pitcher’s circle will be a ten (10) foot circle measured from the center of the pitching rubber.  There will be fifty (50) feet between bases.  An arc will be drawn fifteen (15) feet from the back of home plate, from foul line to foul line in fair territory.  This area will be foul territory for the purpose of batted balls.  A line will be drawn halfway between first base and second base, second base and third base, and third base and home plate.  These will determine the runner’s degree of advancement when time is called.

THE BATTER:  All batters will wear a batting helmet while on the field of play, whether as a batter or a base runner.

BUNTING: Will not be allowed.

THE CATCHER:  Must wear a batting helmet or a catchers’ helmet with a facemask.  Coaches will place the catcher in an area, behind home plate, that he/she deems safe before the batter swings.  After the ball has been put in play the catcher will not be restricted on the field of play.

INFIELD FLY:  Will NOT be in effect.

THE FIELDERS:  All defensive players must be positioned farther from home plate than the back of the pitchers box (exceptions: pitcher and catcher).  Infielders must be at a minimum of 46 feet from home plate. All outfielders must remain behind the base paths until the ball is put in play.

COACHES:  A manager and 3 coaches will be allowed in this age group due to the extra help needed in the dugout during the game.  On offense a coach pitcher, a first base and third base coach will be allowed on the field.  On defense, 1 coach is allowed to roam the field of play to provide instruction, the others shall remain in the dugout area.
